This movie is about a single mom who operates a locust farm to earn a living and went desperate when the insects got out of control.
Analysis:
The Swarm (2020) is a French horror movie. It’s actually more of a drama in the sense that it focuses on the struggles of a single mother rather than the horrifying insects.
If you’re looking for really disgusting carnivorous insect action, there are only a few that stood out. In fact, you won’t see much of the locusts attacking an entire community. This might be a downer for horror lovers who expect plague levels of a swarm.
The nicest thing about the movie is seeing how the mother singlehandedly tried to make everything work for her children. Her sacrifices were justified, though it got out of hand and almost to the brink of insanity.
Be warned though, the ending is abrupt, considering it was the climax of the whole film. You’ll be asking for more.
