Analysis:
The Platform 2 (2024) is the long-awaited “sequel” to the first film. It still features the pit, where a levitating platform filled with food goes down one level at a time all the way to 333.
Just like the first one, this requires multiple viewings in order to understand what is happening. As usual, there are a lot of symbolisms and metaphors hinting about politics and society, but the focus is more on the law enforcement they created among themselves.
Acting-wise, the new protagonist and the cellmates are good. However, they focused more on showing the brutality in the pit rather than building an emotional connection with the audience.
There are a lot of shocking revelations and twists here. It's up to the viewers if they are willing to go through both movies again to decipher the meanings and slice through every scene.
