Analysis:
The Mansion (2017) is a crazy French comedy horror movie. It’s not slapstick, but there are a lot of unnecessary scenes to create a relationship between the characters. These ate up a lot of time in the first part of the movie.
The second part is all about the brutal murders. It’s a whodunnit style where the killer remains a mystery up until the big reveal towards the end. They insert cringe-worthy scenes that are supposed to be funny.
Because of the long and dragging character introduction, the killing spree seemed hurried. They did not last the whole night. The deaths were violent and gory at times, but they were too quick.
The good thing that redeemed this movie was the shocking revelation. The twist was so unusual and mind-blowing at the same time. Then again, the ending was abrupt.
