Analysis:
The First Omen (2024) is a much-awaited prequel to The Omen film franchise. It tells the backstory of how the Antichrist was brought to life and the struggle to achieve it.
Although it features nuns yet again, this church-related horror movie is not the same as the typical ones about demonic possession. In fact, this might even be creepier since it deals with how the so-called "Son of the Devil" was purposely created.
There are very few jump scares and more hair-raising, spine-tingling, and mind-blowing scenes that put viewers at the edge of their seats. Thanks to the great acting as well.
The first 30 minutes might be a dull start, but the rest of the movie is purely intense storytelling, leading to an ending that is questionable, a bit confusing, but exciting.
It marks the beginning of another branch of The Omen narrative where it focuses on Damien Thorn's real family after he was given away in the events of The Omen (1976).
That being said, this universe is expanding, and we should expect more after that intriguing epilogue.
