Analysis:
The Binding (2020) is an Italian horror movie. It features old ladies doing strange rituals that made it look like a typical scary grandma story.
The premise is good, but the problem with this movie is the lack of overall chemistry with the characters. They failed to establish their relationships with each other.
It made the backstory weak. Yes, they talked about the family history. But the whole ritual vs. entity scenario was not explained. They did not uncover the mysteries. You will have to go through the movie without knowing what is happening and why. Or even how the evil entity got in the way of everything. Or what was it they’re up against in the first place.
The best thing about the movie is the child actress who performed so well. She’s so creepy and probably the saving grace of this movie.
The ending was open-ended and failed to explain what happened to the entity or how they survived. There were a lot of unanswered questions.
