Analysis:
Priest (2011) is an interesting universe that they have forgotten to explore. It's a badass movie about vampires in a futuristic setting mixed with traditional elements such as the involvement of the church.
The cast is a good mix, but they still have a lot to offer acting-wise if given the chance. The action sequences, though very few, are amazing.
The whole movie is geared towards building up the vampire chase up until the action-packed but quick fight sequence towards the end. At the very least, audiences deserve the sequel they teased before the credits rolled.
There are a lot of sequel ideas from this movie: the vampire creatures and their creepy familiars, the queen, the human hybrids, the church organization itself that runs the whole city, and the heroic adventures of the three saviors.
There is a backstory about the vampire ambush at the start, but it would also be interesting to see how the priests were recruited in a prequel.
Overall, this movie is like a preview of a bigger cinematic universe that will hopefully be revisited, especially since filmmakers nowadays love to remake and reboot things.
