Synopsis:
This movie is about a loner girl who found solace in someone's grave and had to face the consequences that go with the corpse coming back to life.
Analysis:
Lisa Frankenstein (2024) is such a fun movie to watch. It will somehow remind you of Warm Bodies because of the romance involved and the idea of the zombie becoming more alive.
The aesthetics and the music are on point. Everything is visually appealing. Kathryn Newton and Cole Sprouse look so much like Helena Bonham-Carter and Johnny Depp. Plus, Liza Soberano's natural beauty stands out.
Since this is a feel-good rom-com horror movie, even the censorship of the supposed brutal killings works well. The blood splatter is enough.
The only problem is that the story is so fast-paced. It would have been nice if they explored the progress of their love story, the evolution of the corpse, and the suspense of hiding from everyone. Carla Gugino's wicked stepmother character is also short-lived.
That being said, the tombstone and the revelation at the end definitely call for a sequel.
