Analysis:
Fall (2022) can be categorized as a psychological thriller in the sense that it focuses on the character’s fear of heights, plus the suspense narrative of the movie.
So let this be a warning, this is not for viewers with acrophobia. Some camera angles are anxiety-inducing and stomach-churning even for those who are not afraid of heights.
What’s good about this supposedly simple movie about “falling” is how they have incorporated a twist with the characters. The story made it more depressing to be stuck in the middle of nowhere. It’s also creative to have added other natural elements to the seemingly plain tower setting to make it scarier.
And what’s more stressful than being trapped on a tiny ledge? Their failed efforts to call for help are facepalm worthy. They wasted several chances until they reach a point of desperation after the shocking reveal.
All in all, it’s not another extreme adventure movie that you’ve already seen somewhere. In fact, the character finally achieving closure is a good ending
